The Division of Cardiac Surgery at the Hamilton General Hospital is accepting applications
for the position of Cardiac Surgical Assistant.
The successful applicant will join a team of experienced assistants at one of the largest
cardiac surgery centres in Canada, assisting on a variety of operations. There are no clinical
responsibilities outside of the operating room.
Opportunities exist for both part-time and full-time employment. Good suturing skills and
previous experience in cardiac surgical assisting, and other types of surgical assisting, will
be considered an asset.
Eventual participation in the on-call schedule will be required. You will be on call only for
emergency cardiac surgical operations. You will be paid a HOCC on-call per diem when
on-call.
You will be responsible for your own OHIP billing and you will retain all of your assistant
fees.
