Position Overview
Modern Medical is seeking a Family Medicine Physician, preferably with emergency medicine experience to grow medical services for first responders.

This opportunity offers a unique model of practice centred on a defined patient population, those working in emergency service organizations, with a focus on continuity of care and an expanding care model. It is well suited for physicians looking to build a meaningful practice with strong clinical support, reduced administrative burden, and flexibility in care delivery.


Practice Model

-Flexible Schedule: Part-time or full-time opportunities available
-Compensation: 100% fee-for-service (OHIP billings retained)
-No Overhead: Fully supported clinical environment
-Hybrid Care Model: In-person and virtual care options
-Focused Patient Population: First responders and individuals working in first responder organizations, including police, firefighters
-Collaborative Environment: Work within a multidisciplinary team with streamlined referral pathways and coordinated care planning

-TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) with integrated workflows and AI-supported dictation

Ideal Candidate

-Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and in good standing
-Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP)
-Interest in team-based, collaborative care
-Experience in emergency medicine preferred

AI-enabled fax handling via Phelix (triage, sorting, task assignment)
OHIP billing and rejection management handled by the clinic
Accuro EMR with full setup, training, and ongoing technical support
OceanMD online booking enabled for streamlined patient access
On-site pharmacy support for prescriptions and continuity of care
Relocation assistance may be available for suitable candidates moving to Otttawa, depending on circumstances and contract terms.

Approximately 12,000 local residents without a family physician (2025 data)
Over 2,500 patients registered within two weeks of initial advertising
Three new residential condo developments within walking distance
uOttawa student accommodation directly opposite; university approximately 6 minutes away
High flow of private paying Quebec patients
