Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) in Midland, Ontario is looking to add a full-time and/or Locum Obstetrician and Gynecologist to our expanding team to better serve the community's increasing needs.
This Position Offers You
- Remuneration includes a competitive AFP with a gross income of over $30,000/month plus HOCC on-call payment plus a portion of billings for a full time equivalent.
- Resources for a 1.0 FTE position including regular OR block time and ambulatory care time for minor procedures
- Relocation assistance includes access to subsidized housing during the transition period, along with other negotiable incentives.
The successful candidate is expected to provide comprehensive community gynecology services, including consults and surgical services. They will also provide comprehensive obstetrical care while working in a collaborative environment alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including family physicians and midwives. On call requirements include 1:3 with the goal of getting to 1:6. As a Level 1B Hospital with approximately 200 annual births and experiencing substantial year-over-year growth, we are expanding our team to better serve the community's increasing needs.
Our ORs are well equipped for the wide breadth of gynecology surgeries, including equipment for advanced laparoscopic surgeries. In addition to an up-to-date suite of laparoscopic instruments, (e.g. laparoscopic hysterectomies), our equipment also includes the use of the Myosure. Our ambulatory care is equipped for comprehensive gynecology examinations including colposcopy.
As the Ideal Candidate You Have
- FRCSC certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery is preferred but a fellowship is not required. We welcome applicants of all stages. A fellowship is not required
- Licensure or eligibility to practice in the province of Ontario (CPSO)
- Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association in good standing
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
Our medical staff includes Hospitalists, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics / Gynecology, and Radiology. We also have a large group of itinerant surgeons, including ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics, and Urology. GBGH is an expanding 113-bed facility, including a closed unit Level 3 ICU.
Our dedicated team serves a diverse catchment area, including Midland, Penetanguishene, Township of Tiny, Township of Tay, Christian Island, Georgian Bay Township, and Springwater Township.
