DIVISION OF GASTROENTEROLOGY, HEPATOLOGY AND NUTRITION
1-year TERM with possible extension to 2 years

The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a full-time locum Gastroenterologist within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition to fill a 1-year term with possible extension to 2 years.

The ideal candidate will be Royal College certified or equivalent in Pediatrics and should be eligible and become certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa at an academic rank commensurate with experience. While English is the language of the health record, functionality in French is an asset.

The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together, we provide outstanding patient care, leading research, and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns, children, and youth of the Ottawa area, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions, which include Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition provides a comprehensive array of services and includes a dedicated Inflammatory Bowel Disease team and clinic. The Division provides specialty care in the fields of Pediatric Hepatology, Upper Gastrointestinal pathology, Pancreatology in addition to General gastroenterology services. The division has 6 full-time members and a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals consisting of nurses, dietitians, and social workers. In addition, the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The clinical role includes inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services as well as endoscopic procedures.
